The two stories I wanted to focus on was analyzing patterns in gambling to best increase your odds of winning, along with fraud in gambling.

Firstly, a question that is asked a ton is “how can I find patterns in gambling?” Finding and capitalizing on patterns is an important and extremely useful skill to have, you do not want to go into every spin off roulette or every hand of blackjack completely blind. Analyzing patterns is also quite easy to learn, not just in the casino either, but in sports betting too, which will be used for the first example. Let’s say you are watching NFL football, and you want to place a bet, but you are not entirely sure who to bet on. For this example, we will say it’s the Buffalo Bills versus the Miami Dolphins. Using box scores from previous games serves as a great method of deciding what would be a good prop to bet on, if the Bills running back has scored a touchdown in two of the last three games, that would be an excellent bet. Secondly, we will be looking at roulette, most if not all digital roulette games have a “history tab” on the side showing what the ball has landed on during previous spins. Using that information, finding patterns is very easy, leaving it up to you to decide what to put your money on!

The second segment I wanted to focus on was fraud in gambling. All casinos have intricate and constant surveillance in their establishment to ensure them along with their customers are engaging safely and legally, meaning gambling fraud always takes place online. Online gambling fraud involves stolen information such as credit card or in some cases even identity that benefit the theifs bank account. ComplyAdvantage.com states that the online gambling fraud rate has spiked to 80%. This issue does not just affect the companies, but the people’s who information has been compromised, leading to inconvenience and headaches when trying to recover their data.
